Why MEDtiopia?

You can donate almost anywhere. We're no better than anyone else.

But what we can assure you is that our aid reaches a region we know and love well. Where we have regional contacts. And which desperately needs support! We provide emergency aid and work to improve medical care in cooperation with local NGOs.
We don't employ anyone in Germany; instead, we work voluntarily to achieve the greatest possible impact for the people of Ethiopia. We focus on health because that's our strength. And we address the acute needs on the ground. That's why we founded MEDtiopia e.V.

Projects 2024 / 2025

We support two clinics in northern Ethiopia: in the small town of Mersa and in the provincial town of Dessie. Thanks to your donations, for example, the first bone marrow biopsy was performed in Dessie! Doesn't sound so spectacular? The clinic in Dessie serves around 11 million people, and there is no better-equipped hospital in the region. It's unimaginable for us, isn't it?
We also finance emergency relief efforts: 200 packages of hygiene products for women and girls (washable sanitary pads and soap) were distributed to refugee women, as well as baby food for malnourished children. For more information, see Projects...

MEDtiopia meets Urban Art

In March, we hosted a charity exhibition and vernissage with an after-art party. Thanks to donations from the artists, support from Art of Buna e.V., and the numerous guests and buyers, we raised around 10,000 euros!
